The Alabama Treasure Forest Association will be hosting a Forestry Festival in Grove Hill at the Clarke Prep School grounds on Saturday, May 6. This action packed event will kick off at 9 a.m. and wind down at 5 p.m.
The ATFA promises this event will be a fun-filled day for the entire family with lots of children's activities, entertainment, forestry exhibits and demonstrations, timber sports and prizes, food, arts, crafts and much more.
Some of the competitive events will feature lumberjacks, chain saw artists and contests such as ax throwing, stock saw speed cutting, and hot saw.
Prizes will be awarded for these events.
A special &#8220make and take” section for children will include many hands-on activities and a nature scavenger hunt.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for those of you that have products from the forest, handcrafted items or services that you would like to market and sell to participate in.
Some of you own forest resource related businesses that you would like to promote. If you are interested in the contests or in sponsoring a booth, or for questions about the festival, call the ATFA toll free number 1-888-240-4694.
Come join us for fun, games, contests, demonstrations, prizes, shopping and fried catfish.
