Reception held for Baker supporters

Alan Baker, candidate for state representative, hosted a reception Thursday, April 27, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. McGowin Miller.
The reception honored Brewton's host committee for Baker's campaign. The cost committee is a group of Baker's supporters who are helping to raise funds for the campaign and showing support for their candidate.
Baker addressed his guests in a speech in which he thanked his supporters and said the race would not be won by him alone, but that it would be a group effort with everyone involved.
Baker also ssaid once elected he will work to improve the evacuation routes from the coast to I-65 as well as work diligently to boost economic development in this district.
Also, having been an educator for 27 years, Baker said he intends to continue to work for the teachers and the education system when elected to office.
In attendance at the reception was Rep. Mike Hubbard, Alabama House of Representatives minority leader.
Hubbard made the trip by plane from the Auburn area to show support for Baker's candidacy.
Hubbard addressed the crowd and showed great support for Baker.
Hubbard said he, as well as other legislators in Montgomery, are enthusiastic that the race can be won by Baker and that they look forward to working with Baker at the state Capitol after the November election.
Other special guests in attendance at the reception were Rep. Greg Albritton, whose district includes parts of Escambia, Conecuh Monroe and Baldwin counties, as well as Cory Adair and Candace Clark, both from the Republican Caucus.
