Braves, Yankees stay on top in EB Little League

Both division leaders in East Brewton Little League maintained a firm grip on their leads.
The Athletics boosted their undefeated league record to 6-0 Thursday with a 12-0 win over the Cubs in Age 9-10 play. The Yankees improved their first place mark to 6-1 with a 1-0 win over the Cardinals.
Age 9-10
Braves 14, Cubs 11
BRAVES: Quantine Barksdale was the winning pitcher, as he allowed three hits and struck out three. Barksdale, Dylan Godwin and Taylor Elliott had a single and scored two runs. Gregory Allen had a single. Robert Jones, Dalton Smith and Nick Lassiter scored two runs.
CUBS: James Gregory had a single, a double, a triple and scored two runs. Justin Sessions had a single and scored two runs. Josiah Nettles had a single. Patrick Glass and Andrew Findley scored two runs.
Athletics 12, Cubs 0
ATHLETICS: Tyler Joyner threw a one-hitter and struck out nine to get the win. Joyner also scored two runs. Damion Williams had two singles and scored two runs. Dalton Simmons, Dillan Simmons and Cody McCall had a single. Tyler Joyner scored two runs. Miles Powell scored three runs.
CUBS: Patrick Glass had a single.

YANKEES: Gary McGraw threw a two-hitter and struck out 13 to get the win. McGraw, Austin Redash, Reid Johnson and Billy Strength all had a single.
CARDINALS: Joseph Strength struck out 10 and allowed only four hits, but took the loss. Strength had two singles.
Dodgers 6, Cardinals 2
DODGERS: Hayden Cooper was the winning pitcher, as he threw a four-hitter and struck out five. Cooper also had two singles. Josh Tompkins had two singles and scored two runs. Cord Moulder and Cameron Blackmon had a single. Taylor Ballard had a double.
CARDINALS: Keith Bradley had a single and a triple. Brian Settle and Trace Thomas both had a single.
