Rangers lose, reclaim lead in Brewton Babe Ruth

The Rangers still hold a one-half game lead over the Cubs in the Brewton Babe Ruth League, but not without a brief shuffle in the standings.
The Cubs took the lead briefly when they knocked off the Rangers 9-8. The Rangers moved back in front when the Cubs were upset by the Reds 10-6 and the Rangers slipped past the Athletics 9-8.
Cubs 9, Rangers 8
CUBS: Corey Williams worked the final four innings and struck out eight to get the win. Robert Knowles and Landon Sowell scored two runs. Corey Williams had two singles. Gordan Jones had a double. Bradley Brown had a single.
RANGERS: Justin Payne had a single. Cody Swain had a single and scored two runs. Aaron Nelson had three singles. Blake Crosby, Paul Busby, Michael McGaha and William Shell had a single.
Athletics 11, Indians 7
ATHLETICS: Sam Sharpe pitched two scoreless and hitless innings of relief to get the win. Dylan Smith had a single and a double. Sharpe had a double and scored three runs Garrett Robinson had two doubles, a homerun and scored three runs. Nick Moore, Tyler Cross and Mitch Emmons had a single. Gregory Shipp had two singles.
INDIANS: Grant DeFrancisco had two singles and scored two runs. Tyler Brown had a single and a double. James Hamric had a single. Roy Brown had a single and a double.
Rangers 9, Athletics 8
RANGERS: William Shell was the winning pitcher. Shell allowed one run over the first five innings. Shell returned to the mound with two outs in the seventh inning and picked the tying run off third base without throwing a pitch.
Justin Payne and Shell had a single. Aaron Nelson had a single, a double and scored two runs. Tyler Nall had a single and scored two runs. Blake Crosby and Devlin Crosby scored two runs.
ATHLETICS: Sam Sharpe and Mitch Emmons had a single. Tyler Cross had a single and scored two runs. Garrett Robinson scored two runs. Trent Robinson had a double. Nick Moore had a single and a triple.
Reds 10, Cubs 6
REDS: Wil Riggs was the winning pitcher, as he allowed two runs over four innings. Riggs had two singles, a homerun and scored three runs. Jacob Cannon and Mabry Cook had two singles. John Mathieu had two singles and scored two runs. Christian Lodge, Caleb Palmer, Derek Smith and Caleb Smith had a single.
CUBS: Robert Knowles, Dodson Hetherington, Paul Miller, Bryant Jernigan, Bradley Brown and Corey Williams had a single. Houston Simmons had two singles and scored two runs. Gordan Jones had two singles and scored two runs.
