Every program has to have a starting point. While the response for next week's First Annual T.R. Miller Fellowship of Christian Athletes Camp remains to be seen, T.R. Miller football coach and camp co-director Jamie Riggs hopes it will become an annual event.
The idea for the FCA Camp, which will be held in conjunction with the Brewton Area YMCA, originated from Brewton First Baptist Church youth minister and camp co-director Randy Winton.
Winton estimates there will be about 25 T.R. Miller and Brewton Middle School students who will be workers at the camp.
Riggs said the FCA Camp will provide a lot of activities for participants such as flag football, kickball and basketball. The program will also include devotion and worship segments. Riggs along with T.R. Miller assistant football coaches Allen Burgess and Eddie Brundidge are slated to be guest speakers.
The camp is for incoming second through seventh grade students. Cost to attend the camp
is $15. Camp sessions are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration for the camp will be held the first
day of camp, June 19, at 8 a.m. at the T.R. Miller High School Gym.
