Candidate to hold fundraising event in Atmore Thursday

Alan Baker, candidate for state representative, will host a reception Thursday, June 22 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the home of Tammy and Mitch Jones in Atmore.
The reception is a fundraiser for Baker's campaign for State Representative for District 66.
House District 66 includes most of the southern two-thirds of Escambia County including the municipalities of Atmore, Flomaton, East Brewton, Brewton, Pollard and Riverview.
The district also extends southward into northeastern Baldwin County to Interstate 10 and including all of Loxley.
Baker will address his guests and thank them for their overwhelming show of support for his candidacy.
In addition he will encourage all of the voters to go to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 7 to perform their civic opportunity to vote.
Also in attendance at the reception will be Mike Hubbard, Alabama House of Representatives minority leader. He is making the trip by plane from the Auburn area to show support for Baker's candidacy.
Hubbard was elected in 1998. He serves as president of Auburn Network, Inc., and is a member of the Auburn United Methodist Church. Distinguished as Auburn's 1998 Young Business Person-of-the-Year, Hubbard serves on the board of directors for Regions Bank of Lee County, is a member of the Auburn Kiwanis Club, the Alabama Broadcasters' Association, and the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. Hubbard sits on several House Committees including Education Finance and Appropriations; Education; and the Lee County Legislation.
Baker, a Republican, will face incumbent Skippy White in the November election.
