First United Methodist Church of East Brewton has a new pastor.
The Rev. George A. Weaver and his wife, Fannie, are both natives of Mt. Vernon.
He has served in the United Methodist Church for 25 years, serving at Aldersgate UMC in Mt. Vernon; Stapleton UMC in Stapleton; Clear Springs UMC in Robertsdale; Barlow/Mount Carmel United Methodist Churches in Millary and Ebenezer UMC in Wagerville.
The Weavers have three children and six grandchildren.
