Ms. Glenda Mae Jerkins, 48, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at her residence. She was a native of Century, Fla. and a long time resident of Jay. During her working years, she was an inspector and supervisor at Boll Weevil Radification. She was a member of Cora Baptist Church in Jay. She was preceded in death by her son, Frankie “Trucker” Carnley Jr.
She is survived by her parents, Melvin and Lula Mae Johnson of Jay; a sister, Rita Croley of Flomaton; a special friend, David Comalander; a niece and a great nephew.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 25, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Tim McKnight officiating. Burial followed at Cora Baptist Church Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Jerry Lacy, Wayne Lacy, Gary Lacy, Jason Lacy, Jeffery Lacy, Billy Byrd, David Garmon and Jeffery Jackson.
