Pair jailed in bust

A Brewton woman and man have been arrested following the execution of warrants by the 21st Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force.
Vanessa Jean Samuel, 51, and Marvin Samuel Jr. of 40774 U.S. 31 North, have been arrested and charged with several violations.
Vanessa Samuel has been arrested twice during the past four weeks on various drug charges. She was initially arrested June 13 by the Task Force and was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance - powder cocaine; unlawful possession of a controlled substance - crack cocaine, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
On June 13, the Task Force, along with officers from the Brewton Police Department, East Brewton Police Department and investigators from the Escambia County Sheriff's office executed a search warrant at the residence in the residential area formerly known as Blueberry Hill Trailer Park. While there, agents recovered crack cocaine, powder cocaine, several different types of prescription drugs, a handgun and $1600 in cash.
While agents were executing the search warrant, Marvin Samuel exited the residence through a bedroom window.
Vanessa Samuel found herself under arrest a second time on July 5. Officers again executed a search warrant at the U.S. 31 North residence. During the execution of the warrant agents found several drugs at the residence and again arrested the woman. She was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance to include powder cocaine, crack cocaine, Lortabs and OxyContin, unlawful possession of marijuana second degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Marvin Samuel was apprehended and was charged on warrants of unlawful possession of powder cocaine and crack cocaine.
Both offenders are currently being held in the Escambia County Detention Center. Vanessa Samuel was out on bond following her first arrest with that bond being revoked following her second arrest. She is being held without bond for the second arrest.
A bond hearing for Marvin Samuel Jr. was pending at press time.
