The Escambia County School Board agreed Thursday to settle a lawsuit involving an equal opportunity complaint - but school officials would give few details about the case.
The board agreed to settle the case for $135,000.
Board attorney Broox Hines Friday said the case began as a complaint filed by a school district employee through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The complaint wound up being filed in U.S. District Court in 2005, with the U.S. Justice Department involved in the case, Garrett said.
No other details about the case were available. Garrett said the settlement would be filed in early August.
