If you are a poll watcher, then you probably already know that T.R. Miller's high school football team has been ranked in the No. 4 position in the Class 4A Alabama Sports Writers Association prep football preseason polls.
With sports prognosticators ranking the Tigers in one of the top five spots, the chances of the team making the playoff stack up very well.
With the first game of the season just weeks away, the Tigers are gearing up for a round of games against stiff opponents.
The schedule this season finds the Tigers taking on another Top 10 ranked team in their division.
Trinity will be the final opponent on this year's schedule on Nov. 3 at home. The Tigers will also face W.S. Neal on Oct. 27 with the Eagles being ranking 17th in the same poll.
Scheduling conflicts cause some teams to play out of their division. This year is no exception.
The Tigers will face Clarke County in their season opener Sept. 1. Clarke County has been ranked 13th in the Class 3A division. Another opponent for Miller in the Class 3A division will be Straughn who will host the Tigers on Sept. 29.
Other games scheduled for the Tigers this season are Southside Selma on Sept. 8; Escambia County on Sept. 15; Monroe County on Sept. 22; Thomasville on Oct. 6; Jackson on Oct. 13; and Hillcrest on Oct. 20.
Regional opponents on this year's line-up are Southside-Selma, Escambia County, Monroe County, Thomasville, Jackson, Hillcrest, W.S. Neal and Trinity Presbyterian. The Tigers will face Jackson on Oct. 13 for the 2006 Homecoming game.
