Mr. Burl Emanuel Blackwell, 53, of Maddox Street, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2006, in a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Brewton. He was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Johnson Blackwell of East Brewton; a son, Brad (Tiffany) Blackwell of Brewton; a daughter, Jennifer (Tony) Jordan of Brewton; a stepson, Bobby Wilson of Brewton; two stepdaughters, Connie Moffitt of Brewton and Stacey (David) Lowery of Slidell, La.; three brothers, Billy Wayne (Kay) Blackwell, Burns (Alma Jean) Blackwell and Bernard Blackwell, all of Brewton and seven grandchildren, Brandon Moffitt, Johnathon Wilson, Samantha Moffitt, Kristalyn Hutcheson, Emilie Lowery, Wade Lowery and Braden Emanuel Blackwell.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at Ridge Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Eisenburg officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
