Mrs. Avanell Morris Boutwell, 85, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, in Flomaton. She was a native of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and a resident of Flomaton since 1934. She attended the Allen Smith Holiness Church and was preceded in death by her husband, John S. &#8220Big Boy” Boutwell.
She is survived by five sons, Sidney B. (Jeanice) Boutwell, Wendell M. (Judy) Wanda Boutwell and Andy R. (Sue) Boutwell, all of Flomaton; four daughters, Barbara B. Booker of Monroeville; Gloria Fay (Billy Joe) Knowles and Judy B. (Billy) Smith, all of Flomaton and Paula B. (Ray) Johnson of Jay, Fla.; four brothers, Harold Morris and Jack Morris, both of Flomaton, Charles Morris of Opp, and Lester Morris of New York; a sister, Alleen Dannelley of Thomasville; 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Sunday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore with the Rev. Charles Morris and the Rev. Andy Boutwell officiating. Burial followed at Lambeth-Boutwell Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel directing. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Boutwell, Vance Smith, Trent Boutwell, Tuffy Boutwell, Kevin Knowles and Tadd Johnson.
