Bowhunters to have fun shoot Saturday
The Brewton/Escambia Bowhunters will be having a bowhunter fun shoot Saturday.
The shoot is designed to help participants practice and confidence with their bow setup for the upcoming archery season, which starts Oct. 15.
The shoot consists of mainly 3-D targets set up in situations that will resemble what a hunter will encounter during a season. Shooters can keep score the same as regular 3-D competitions.
There will be three distances set up to cover different levels. Only field tips will be allowed.
The range, which is located behind Arby's in Brewton, will open at 9 a.m. Shooters will have to be off the range by 1 p.m. The practice range will be open to all registrants for use before and after they shoot the course.
Brewton/Escambia Bowhunters is offering a membership special, which allows individual and family members to utilize the range and facilities for practice at any time. For a limited time, individuals can join at a cost of $30, which covers the remainder of the 2006 season and 2007.
