Work on the kindergarten annex renovation could continue until December, Brewton City Schools Superintendent Lynn Smith told school board members Monday.
Smith said the contractors have offered to do some additional work at no extra charge, but Smith said he is not sure what else the school would need.
Two kindergarten classes are meeting at the main elementary school while work is going on at the kindergarten annex. The renovated classrooms are expected to be larger.
Meanwhile, work also continues on the roof at the elementary school, which Smith said could be completed by next week.
Smith also said the school system continues to work toward securing land for a new middle school. The school system has budgeted $11 million for construction of a new middle school this year.
