Mrs. Ruth Dunn Fleming Archer, 96, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, in Century, Fla. She was a native of Rocky Hill and a resident of Century, Fla. since 1926. She was a former employee of Alger Sullivan Lumber Company from 1931 to 1947; owner/operator of Archer Grocery Meat Market and Mercantile Store for most of her life and one of the oldest members of the Century Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Edgar A. Archer, seven sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Ramon) Rydzowski of Flomaton; three grandsons, Steven (Donna) Rydzowski of McDavid, Fla., Karen Rydzowski of Wing, and Craig (Ann) Rydzowski of Flomaton; six great grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. William Terry “Pete” Dunn and the Rev. John Evangelista officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Steven Wayne Rydzowski, Don Fussell, Ronnie Rydzowski, Curtis Jordan, Fred Salter and O'Neil Jordan. Honorary pallbearers were Lamar Dunn, Michael Dunn, David Dunn, Rodney Dunn, Reggie and Audry Melton.
