Brewton Mini Mites, Mites post wins

Both the Brewton Mini Mites and Mites picked up road wins over Gulf Breeze White Saturday.
Quarterback Kellyn Winn ran for more than 100 yards and had touchdown runs of 35, 45 and 27 yards to lead the Mini Mites to a 32-0 victory. The Mini Mites improved to 6-0 with the win.
Anterio Drakeford and Markail Mitchell also scored touchdowns. Drakeford earned his through a 40-yard dash, while Mitchell ran his in from 30 yards out.
The Mini Mites' defense was led by DaQuain Kiser, Treylon Watson, Clayton Turner, Samuel Terry and Le'Quentin Maxwell.
The Mites (5-1) also won in dominating fashion, as they downed Gulf Breeze White 26-6.
Quarterback Kieon Smith provided the biggest offensive play for the Mites with a 45-yard touchdown run. Dillan Carpenter, Dedrionne Lee and Jaylon Herbert also scored touchdowns for the winners.
Dominique Jackson scored a defensive touchdown for the Mites, as he had a 45-yard interception return. D'Andre Fraser, Terry Samuel, Trae Walker and McHenry Coleman also contributed to the Mites' defensive effort.
The day was not as pleasant for the Brewton Midgets, as they dropped a 13-12 decision to Gulf Breeze White.
The Midgets (3-3) fell behind 13-0 in the first half, but nearly pulled the game out in the second half on a 20-yard
touchdown run by Jamal Spears and a 15-yard touchdown pass from Sim Brown to Antonio Hall with three minutes left in the game.
Denzel Mallard, Zack Haveard, Tyler Stallworth, Fred Grice, Fabion Jones and Jamar Prime led the Midgets on defense.
The Brewton teams will be involved in a punt, pass and kick competition this Saturday.
The next game action is Oct. 14 when the Brewton teams host Ensley Blue. Play starts with the Mini Mites at 2 p.m. followed by the Mites at 4 p.m. and the Midgets at 6 p.m.
