Mr. James Donald “Jim” Straiton Jr., 47, died Friday Oct. 6, 2006, at a Florida hospital. He was a native of Birmingham, a former resident of Brewton and a resident of Milton for the past ten years. He was a sports fan and attended the Indian Ford Victory Fellowship Church. He was preceded in death by his father, James Donald Straiton Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Straiton of Milton; two sons, James Donald Straiton III of Panama City, Fla. and Lewis Vernon Straiton of Allentown, Fla.; his daughter, Rita LeAnn Straiton of Kyle, Texas; his mother, Wanda Rothe Straiton of Brewton; a brother, John Vernon Straiton of Brewton and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held today, Wed., Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Indian Ford Victory Fellowship Church with the Rev. Danny Carnley and the Rev. Fred Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Home Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be John Straiton, J.D. Straiton, Lewis Straiton, Gary Miller, Bob Weathersbee and Roger Ruryk. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Owens, George Armstrong and Jay Long.
