Ruby Irene Nelson Thompson

Mr. Ruby Irene Nelson Thompson, 85, of Travis Road, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at a Santa Rosa County health facility after an extended illness. She was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County, Ala., and was a retired machine operator with St. Regis Paper Company with 20 years of service. She was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Betty) Thompson of Brewton; two brothers, William Nelson and T.C. Nelson, both of Brewton; a sister, Hazel Peavy of Brewton and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Shelley and the Rev. John Kemp officiating. Burial followed at Spear Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Bill Thompson, Richard Thompson, Lyman Peavy, Joey Pitts, Rodney Rhodes and Dusty Rhodes.
