Ms. Agatha Gwendolyn Peevy, 71, of East Granberry Street, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at a Pensacola hospital after an extended illness. She was a former resident of Birmingham and a resident of Brewton. She was a retired sales representative with Bell South for 46 years. She was a member of the Brewton Community of Christ Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Peevy and Carla Prestwood Peevy; her brother, Frederick Edward Peevy Sr.; her niece, Rebecca Louise Peevy and three brothers-in-law, Lewis Jones, Warren Handrop and Robert L. Hendrix.
She is survived by a brother, Roderick A. Peevy Sr. of Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters, Edith Ophelia Jones of Montgomery, Gladys Handrop of Pensacola and Rae Hendrix of East Brewton; five nieces and four nephews and other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 23, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel with Elder Wayne Morris and High Priest Ray Langham officiating. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
