Mr. Charles F. “Choppy” Johnson, 72, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at a Pensacola hospital. He was a native of Pineview, a former resident of Collins, Miss., and Pearl River, La., and a resident of Flomaton for the past year. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Johnson; his parents, Earl and Mattie Johnson and a sister, Carol Griffis.
He is survived by his son, Gary Johnson of Pearl River, La.; four sisters, Margie Waters of Century, Fla., Margaret Bliley of Flomaton, Grace Stokes of Jay, Fla., and Edna Miller of Defuniak Springs, Fla.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 20, at 3 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Adams officiating. Burial followed at Ray's Chapel Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Mark Brown, Jonathan Hamilton, Jeff Johnson, Jimmy Waters, Donnie Waters, Josh Jones, Terry Griffis and Mark Hennington.
