Mr. Clarence Hoyt Beckham, 79, of Virginia Avenue, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Coffee Springs, a former resident of Pensacola, Fla. and a resident of Brewton since 1955. He was of the Methodist faith, a U.S. Army veteran, a Mason and the owner/operator of Pensacola Mill Supply. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ophelia Holley Beckham and a son, Andy Beckham.
He is survived by three sons, Roger (Juanita) Beckham of Montgomery, John (Laura) Beckham of Monroeville and Phillip (Cindy) Beckham of Pace, Fla.; one daughter, Dianne Beckham (Ken) Robinson of Lillian; two brothers, Hal Dewight Beckham of Dadeville and Huey Beckham of Auburn; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 3:30 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Sipper and Dr. James Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
