TRM football to hold Picture Day Thursday
The T.R. Miller varsity football team will hold Picture Day Thursday at 5 p.m. at Brewton Municipal Stadium.
Parents and fans will have an opportunity to have their picture taken with their favorite players.
Breast Cancer Tourney raises nearly $1,000
Nearly $1,000 was raised for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Rally for a Cure Breast Cancer Tournaments held at the Country Club of Brewton.
This year marked the 10th anniversary for the events, which are dedicated to spreading awareness in the fight to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.
Participants received a year's subscription to &#8220Golf For Women” or &#8220Golf Digest.” Numerous door prizes were also awarded.
Winners in the women's division were Cheryl Najor and Joyce Benson. Jerry Brown, Wayne Hopper and Jim Shirley won the men's division. Tom and Willene Watson won the mixed division.
JDCC basketball kicks off campaign Nov. 11
The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks basketball team will kick off its season Nov. 11 with a 2 p.m. contest at Gadsden State.
JDCC will open the home portion of its season Nov. 14 with a 7 p.m. contest against Pensacola Christian. It is one of 13 home dates for the Warhawks.
