The Rev. Lottie Mae Watson Spears, 93, of the Foshee community died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at a Pensacola, Fla., health care facility after an extended illness. She was a native and life long resident of Brewton and was the former minister and charter member of Shady Grove Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.C. Spears.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Nell Godfrey and Elizabeth Bishop, both of Brewton, and Charlotte Ann Hammac of Dadeville; a brother, Eubie Watson of Mobile; a sister, Idell Blackmon of Brewton; seven grandchildren, Gwen O'Bannon, Ronnie Byrd, Chris Byrd, Tony Bishop, Regina Watson, Lisa Douglas and Heather Battle; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held were held Friday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Holiness Church with the Rev. Leon Stewart, the Rev. David Stephens and the Rev. Tommy Blackmon officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery in the Foshee community with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
