The annual Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. Santa will arrive on the fire truck, throwing tons of candy. Local businesses and civic organizations, in an effort to receive prize money, will build colorful floats. Mrs. Claus will also be riding in the parade throwing candy as well.
After the parade, Santa has promised to sit in the city park's gazebo and talk to the children and hand out surprises. The Chamber encourages everyone to please use safety precautions.
The parade route is as follows:
The parade will line up in East Brewton on Shoffner Street. It will come down Forrest Avenue, over the bridge on Mildred Street, to the main intersection at the railroad tracks. It will turn onto St. Joseph Avenue to Belleville Avenue and will disband on side streets of McLellan, Rankin and Granberry.
For those who are interested in the parade and need more information, call the Chamber of Commerce at 867-3224.
