Mrs. Elfrieda &#8220Frieda” Fuqua, 75, of Nalty Road, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native and former resident of Germany and a long time resident of Brewton. She was of the Lutheran faith and a retired surgical assistant with 20 years of service at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital and 15 years service at West Gate Village Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.J. Fuqua and a grandson, Brad Fuqua.
She is survived by a son, Freddie Fuqua of Brewton; three daughters, Peggy (Patrick) Hale, Monika (James) Yoder and Anita (Greg) Miller, all of Brewton; a sister, Anneliese Bauer of Germany; eight grandchildren, Gwen Smith, Patrick Michael Hale, Alicia Brock, Barbara Luker, Cristy Woods, Amanda Fuqua, Robert Weaver and Angela Robinson and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. John Gehman and the Rev. Paul Shelly officiating. Burial will follow at Fuqua-Haveard Cemetery in the Bethel community with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
