Rachel Ivey Baker, daughter of Dr. Baxter and Ivey Baker of Brewton, has been selected for membership in the Troy University chapter of Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society.
Delta Epsilon Iota was established in order to recognize and encourage academic excellence in all fields of study.
Students qualify on the basis of academic achievement. Prospective members must have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours at an accredited college or university while maintaining a 3.30 or greater cumulative grade point average. Students achieving a scholastic ranking within the top 15 percent of their class are also considered for membership.
Baker is a 2004 graduate of T.R. Miller High School. She is currently pursuing a degree in elementary education and is expected to graduate in the Spring of 2008.
