Mr. Clyde McCall Northrop Jr., 91, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, in a local healthcare facility. He was a native of Irvington, N.Y. and had been a resident of Flomaton for the past 72 years. He was a member of Tree Farmers of America, a charter member of the Flomaton Fire Department, past director of Escambia County Bank and a member of the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Flomaton First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Northrop.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Inez Northrop of Flomaton; two sons, Clyde (Patricia) Northrop III of Andalusia and Kenneth (Saranne) Northrop of Jasper; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 1:30 p.m. at Flomaton First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry W. Keese officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Ken Northrop, Mac Northrop, Jeremy McMath, Joey McMath, Jonathan McMath and Josh Northrop. Honorary pallbearers were Baraca's Men Sunday School Class.
