Andalusia Ballet, under the direction of Meryane Martin-Murphy, will present Handel's Messiah.
The first performance is on Friday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the LBW Dixon Center for the Performing Arts. This is a member preview performance.
Public performances are Saturday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2:30 p.m.
The production, choreographed by Amelie Hunter, will be accompanied by a community chorus and live music directed by Paula Sue Duebelt.
Handel composed Messiah in approximately three weeks in 1741.
He received a new libretto drawn from the texts of the English Bible.
It was the story of Jesus as the suffering servant and the past 250 years this incredible piece of music has inspired audiences, filling their hearts with passion, joy, comfort, and peace.
