Mrs. Ruth &#8220Dell” Whittaker, 77, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at Range. She was a native of Niceville, Fla., and a resident of Range for almost a year. She attended Lenox Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, the Rev. Vernie C. Whittaker of Range; two sons, Vernie Ray Whittaker of Birmingham and Stephen Lyle Whittaker of Brewton; a daughter, Sharon Denise Slaey of Montgomery; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Pugh and the Rev. Mike King officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Level Cemetery.
