TRM girls get Robert Burke assignments
The T.R. Miller Lady Tigers will open play at the Robert Burke Holiday Classic at Pensacola Catholic High School with a contest against Woodham, Fla. on Dec. 27 at 4 p.m.
T.R. Miller will play two other games at the tournament. The Lady Tigers battle Washington, Fla. on Dec. 28 at 4 p.m. and Pensacola Catholic on Dec. 29 at 4 p.m.
No team champion will be crowned at the tournament. Each of the tournament's six participants play three games against designated opponents.
The remainder of the Dec. 27 schedule will pit Tanner, Fla. and Washington at 5:30 p.m. and Kennesaw Mountain, Ga. against Pensacola Catholic at 7 p.m.
The other two games on Dec. 28 are Kennesaw Mountain against Woodham at 5:30 p.m. and Pensacola Catholic and Tanner at 7 p.m.
The final two games on Dec. 29 are Tanner against Woodham at 5:30 p.m. followed by Washington and Kennesaw Mountain at 7 p.m.
T.R. Miller won the tournament in 2003 in its inaugural appearance at the event and finished third in 2004. Last year the Lady Tigers opted for the Cottage Hill Tournament in Mobile during the holidays before deciding to return to the field at Pensacola Catholic this year.
TRM football sets date for awards night
The T.R. Miller Tigers football team will hold its awards night Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. at the Brewton First Baptist Church.
