Mrs. Evelyn Ball Thompson, 77, of Travis Road, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at her residence. She was a native and life long resident of Escambia County, Ala. She was a member of Elim Baptist Church, Elim Baptist Church Ladies Quilting Club and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Elmer Houston Thompson.
She is survived by six daughters, Marie (Donald) Quates of Deatsville, Elaine (Ted) Wilson and Lois (Buddy Crenshaw, both of Brewton,, Shelia (Gary) Womble and Myra (Kyle) Corbin, both of Millbrook, and Jackie (Gene) Forsyth of Mountain Home; two brothers, George Ball of Brewton, and Buddy Bell of Andalusia; three sisters, Delois Clifton of Vancleave, Miss., Carol Overstreet of Brewton and Annette Davidson of Andalusia; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one step great-grandson.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Shaddock officiating. Burial followed at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery in Roberts with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
