Mr. Donnie Ray Sims, 57, of Victory Street died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County, and was employed as a rideaway foreman with Southern Pine Electric Coop. He was a member of First Open Bible Church.
He is survived by his parents, LeLand Earl and Pearlie Mae Sims of East Brewton; a son, Tony (Kandy) Sims of Brewton; a daughter, Tammy (Kelly) Castleberry of East Brewton; a brother, Paul Sims of East Brewton; three sisters, Pat Lindsey of East Brewton, Diane Jones of Brewton, and Rita Guss of Robertsdale; four grandchildren, Cody and Cade Castleberry and Tori and Landon Sims, and special friends, Sharon Castleberry of Brewton and Karen Blackmon of Gulf Shores.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at First Open Bible Church with the Rev. Roy Skidmore officiating. Burial followed at Damascus Cemetery at Douglas Chapel with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
