Mr. Robert &#8220Grandpa” Eugene Ingram, 77, of Appleton Road, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Carthage, Texas, and a life-long resident of Brewton. He was of the Pentecostal faith, a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired painter. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Ingram; a daughter, Kathy Ingram Calhoun; a brother, Ross Ingram; and two granddaughters, Shila Owens and Jennifer Ingram.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sexton Ingram of Brewton; a son, Vernon (Vanessa) Ingram of East Brewton; a daughter, Sherry (Doug) Greer of Brewton; a stepson, Ricky Nelson of Jackson; two stepdaughters, Debera (Bobby) Freeman of Brewton and Teresa (Zolyn) Pugh of Castleberry; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Floyd and Speaker Debera Freeman officiating. Burial followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
