Hunter recovering from fall

After spending more than eight hours lying injured in the woods, an East Brewton resident is recovering from a number of injuries in a Birmingham hospital.
Danny Parker was transported by LifeFlight to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola following an accident involving a collapsed tree stand Tuesday.
Reid said Parker suffered from several fractured vertebra, three broken ribs and a broken pelvis.
Following the discovery of Parker by a hunting buddy, Life Flight transported him to the Pensacola hospital where he was examined by doctors.
After an initial examination, he was transferred to UAB in Birmingham for further treatment of the injuries.
The accident occurred on leased hunting land off U.S. Highway 29 in the Findley Lane area. According to reporrs, a family member transported Parker from the accident site to a waiting ambulance, which transported him to a location on U.S. 29 to be flown by LifeFlight.
Reid said he is uncertain as to the exact cause of the stand's collapse and is continuing an investigation into the accident.
