Mrs. Lucille Luttrell Howell, 97, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006. She was a native of Brewton, and a resident of Atmore since 1947. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Atmore. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. &#8220Red” Howell Sr.; her parents, Randolph and Georgia Binion Luttrell; a son, W.C. &#8220Billy” Howell Jr.; three brothers, Randolph Binion Luttrell, Joe Bell Luttrell and Clarence Reid Luttrell, and a sister, Anna Luttrell Reynolds.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Howell Dickerson of Atmore; three grandchildren, Dawn D. Malone of Atmore, Jennifer H. Gibney of Mobile, and Donald A. Howell of Birmingham; seven grandchildren, Molly Malone of Atlanta, Ga., Ryan Malone of Atmore, Keehin and Kolby Gibney, both of Mobile, and Will Howell, Margaret Howell and Kate Howell, all of Birmingham; a sister-in-law, Faye B. Luttrell of Brewton, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Atmore with the Rev. Arnold Hendrix officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery in Brewton, with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Harold Malone, Gerald Malone, Ryan Malone, Steve Dunn, Tab Jernigan, Keehin Gibney, Kolby Gibney and Will Howell. Honorary pallbearers were her Sunday school class.
