Mrs. Gladys L. Chavers, 84, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at her Brewton residence. She was a native of Pratt, Mo., and had been a resident of the Brewton area since 1945. She was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy. She was a member of Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, B.M. &#8220Mac” Chavers.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, including Wanda Chisholm of Brewton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. Byrnes Pitts officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
