Mrs. Katherine “Kat” Sable Black Goolsby, 79, of Roby Street, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, at a Pensacola hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Baker, Fla., and a life-long resident of East Brewton. She was a homemaker and a member of the East Brewton Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by two sons, Allen (Carolyn) Goolsby of Brewton, and Rick (Jill) Goolsby of East Brewton; five daughters, Kathy (Donnie) Moulder, Brenda (Ronnie) Johnson and Ginger Halford, all of Brewton, Mae (Gene) White of Flomaton, and Gail (Randy) Dewberry of Fairhope; a brother, R.J. Cook of Brewton; a sister, Janelle Bartlett of Mobile; 16 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m. at the East Brewton Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jeff Scurlock and the Rev. Doug Greer officiating. Burial followed at Damascus Cemetery at Douglas Chapel Church with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
