Mrs. Maebell Smith Ivey, 87, of Douglas Avenue, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at an Evergreen nursing facility after an extended illness. She was a native and long time resident of Castleberry before moving to Brewton six years ago. She was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston “Press” Ivey, and two grandsons, Joe Wright Sr. and Brad Fuqua.
She is survived by a son, Roger Ivey of Brewton; two daughters, Patricia (Joe) Wright of Evergreen, and Sandy Reed of Brewton; two sisters, Adelle Janes of Bay Minette, and Ardell Woodfin of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren, Keith Ivey, Heather Watts, Ilicia Ivey, Amanda Fuqua, Delana Brake and Katie Ann Watts.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 5, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Royce Dubose officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery on Appleton Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
