An overtime blemish at Escambia County may have kept the Brewton Middle School Lady Tigers from their second straight undefeated season, but they took care of everything else on the docket this season.
The 11-1 overall record included a 39-18 home win over the Lyeffion Lady Yellow Jackets in Thursday's season finale.
Brewton went on a 22-3 run in the first half on its way to a 24-5 halftime lead and never looked back.
Natalie Neal tallied 14 points to lead Brewton, while Leah Brundidge added 10.
The Brewton girls got the first half of the sweep at Lyeffion Tuesday when it downed the Lady Yellow Jackets 40-24.
Brewton led just 15-13 at halftime, but went on a decisive 19-0 blitz in the third quarter to put the game away.
Taylor Guthrie led the Lady Tigers with a season-high 14 points, while Brundidge also reached double digits with 10.
The Tigers (3-9) lost the front end of the home-and-home series against the Yellow Jackets, falling at Lyeffion 56-30 Tuesday.
Lyeffion opened up a 16-6 cushion through the first quarter, but the Tigers cut that gap to 22-15 at halftime. The Yellow Jackets outscored Brewton 15-8 in the third quarter and 17-9 in the final frame to pull away.
Kori Jackson led the Tigers with 17 points, while Jaren Jackson added six.
Lyeffion completed the sweep Thursday with a 47-23 win at Brewton.
The Yellow Jackets built a 26-16 lead by halftime and secured their win with a 21-7 scoring edge in the second half.
Kori Jackson led Brewton with six points, Anthony Herbert, Jaren Jackson and Chris Mallard all had four.
