Mr. Cary Douglas Piper, 52, of Baggett Road, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Gary, Ind., and a former resident of Durham, N.C., before moving to Castleberry four years ago. He was a retired product manager in retail sales and was a graduate of the University of Arizona at Tuscon, where he majored in Russian language and literature.
He is survived by special friends, Mary Sullivan, Mike Marino, Asia Sullivan, Stoney Sims, Audrey Cooper and Mitt and Shirley Sullivan, all of Castleberry, Jason Zinnerman and Renee Moye, Benny Crapps and Calvin Duffy, all of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Betsy Venman of Vermont.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. at Buffington Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Godbee officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
