Mr. Chester F. Stanford, 69, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007. He was a longtime resident of Santa Rosa County, Fla., and a retired farmer. He served in the U.S. Army and he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Melisa Stanford.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marcie Stanford of Berrydale; five sons, Wendell Stanford and Chris (Amanda) Stanford, both of Jay, Fla., Jeff (Liz) Stanford of Appleton, Terry (Amanda) Stanford of Caryville, Fla., and Matt (Misty) Stanford of Berrydale; one daughter, Jan (Will) Hair of Canway, Ark.; a brother, Jerry Stanford of Robertsdale; two sisters, Myrte Williams and Becky (Danny) Swindle, both of Robertsdale; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. at Whitfield Assembly of God Church with Brothers Joe Gillman and Randy Missiledine officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Jay Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Wendell, Matt, Jeff, Terry, Chris and Don Stanford. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Stanford, Ed Moore, Larry Moore, Jerry Moore, Richard Walther, Timmy Roberts, Wendell Thomas, Michael Williams and Danny Swindle.
