Pairings, game times set for Area Tournaments
Pairings and game times have been announced for the upcoming Class 4A Area 2 girls and boys basketball tournaments.
The girls tournament will be held at Andalusia and will tip off Feb. 8. Second-seeded T.R. Miller will take on third-seeded Hillcrest-Evergreen in the first game at 5:30 p.m. followed by the other first-round game between top-seeded Andalusia and fourth-seeded W.S. Neal at 7 p.m.
The championship game will be Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
Andalusia was 6-0 in Area games, while T.R. Miller was 4-2, Hillcrest was 2-4 and W.S. Neal was 0-6.
The boys tournament will be at T.R. Miller and will start Feb. 9. Second-seeded Andalusia will battle third-seeded Hillcrest in the first game at 5:30 p.m. Top-seeded T.R. Miller faces fourth-seeded W.S. Neal at 7 p.m. The championship game will be Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
T.R. Miller was 5-1 in Area games, while Andalusia was 4-2, Hillcrest was 3-3 and W.S. Neal was 0-6.
JDCC volleyball team to have tryout session
The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks volleyball team will have open tryouts Saturday at 12 noon at the JDCC Gymnasium.
