Mrs. Willie Lee &#8220Mutt” Jackson Culliver, 84, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, in a local nursing facility. She was a native of Brewton, a former resident of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Pensacola, Fla. She was educated at Boykin High School and Mobile County Training School. She had been a member of Little Brooklyn Baptist Church and then the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in New Orleans. After the death of her daughter, Justine, she shared in the responsibility of raising her eight grandchildren.
She is survived by her eight grandchildren, Deborah Bishop of Nashville, Tenn., Pamela Bishop and Betty Dionne Jackson of Memphis, Tenn., Gregory (Sharrie) Bishop of Tulsa, Okla.,Walarie Bishop of Wiley, Texas, Betty Juanne Jackson of Slidell, La., Willis Bishop Jr. and Henry Keon Jackson of New Orleans; 27 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church in Brewton, with Elder Willie J. Bishop officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
