There's nothing like the smell of a new car - and Brewton Police are enjoying the ride.
Three new patrol cars and an additional administrative car have been added to the fleet of vehicles in the Brewton Police Department.
The new vehicles are reminiscent of by-gone days in that they are painted in a simple black and white style.
McGougin said the change in the appearance of the newly acquired police cars is something he believed would make a statement to the public about the direction the department is taking.
Although patrol cars currently in the fleet aren't the same color as the newly acquired cars, that too, is on the road to change.
Currently the new black and whites are patrolling mainly during the day shift. However, McGougin said the black and white patrol cars will be a common appearance once painting of older vehicles is complete.
