Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks baseball coach Darrell Blevins has added four more names to his 2008 recruiting class.
Among the signings is T.R. Miller Tigers senior righthander Mackie Jackson. Jackson was 8-2 for the Tigers last season. One of those wins was a 9-0 no-hit victory over Escambia County, a game where Jackson fanned 13 Blue Devils and homered on top of his pitching exploits.
Jackson is the second T.R. Miller player to sign before the start of the 2007 season. Earlier infielder Baxley Raines signed with Troy University.
Hart said Jackson has made physical strides since last year.
Jackson said Blevins had shown considerable interest in him for quite a while.
Jackson said he has plenty of room in his game for improvement.
Blevins has also added Kyle Wyatt, a righthanded pitcher/outfielder from Edgewood.
Another recruit who could
both pitch and play in the field is Hunter Brown, a righthanded pitcher/middle infielder from Choctawhatchee High School of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
The other recent signing is catcher/first baseman/third baseman Ben Blodgett from Washington High School of Pensacola, Fla.
Earlier JDCC signed West Florida Technical School righthanded pitchers Shane Ikner and Derek Lowery and infielder/outfielder Cody Sanderson.
