Special to the standard
The Escambia County Steer Show will be held on Thursday, March 1, at the Brewton Stockyard. The show will begin at 1:00 p.m. and the chatter of the Auctioneer, Dr. Phillip Hardee will begin the sale at 6:30 p.m.
The show and sale is the culmination of a project that began last summer for 17 young people.
The show will afford these young people the opportunity to show off their hard work and, through the help of sponsors and premium buyers, make some money on their projects. Most of the buyers at the premium sale will allow the calves to be resold at market price on Saturday, March 3, at the Brewton Stockyard.
Arrangements can be made to transport the calves to a processing facility Farrior said.
This year's exhibitors are: Mason Caraway, Miranda Caraway, Brittany Daniel, Cody Daniel, Lindsey Daniel, James Dean, Jon Dean, Rachel Fuller, Tyler Hochstetler, Trent Lambert, Tyler Lambert, Hailey Lambeth, Josh Lambeth, Michael Mitchell, Caleb Palmer, Josh Palmer and Logan Williamson.
