Army and Air Force Hometown News of San Antonio, Tex. has announced the graduation of Pvt. Kenneth A. Turner. He has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky., where he has begun service with the United States Army.
During the nine-week training period, the trainee received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship and bayonet training, chemical warfare, field training and tactical exercises, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions, and core values.
Turner is a 2002 graduate of T.R. Miller High School.
Tracy Baker, Jr.
Army and Air Force Hometown News in San Antonio, Tex., has announced te graduation of Pvt. Tracy Baker Jr. He has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions.
Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewmen.
He is the son of Dorothy Boykins of McDonough, Ga., and grandson of Bessie Nettles of Castleberry.
Baker graduated in 2004 from James Madison High School in Atlanta, Ga.
