Lawmakers OK incentives

Alabama lawmakers approved legislation Friday for $400 million in incentives aimed at luring a steelmaker to Mobile.
The Legislature met from Monday to Friday in a special session.
The legislation must now be approved by voters on June 5.
Alabama is competing with Louisiana for a $2.9 billion steel mill planned by German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp AG.
The company is looking at sites near Mobile and between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, La., according to published reports.
