On Thursday, February 15 and Friday, February 16, the T.R. Miller High School Band and Brewton Middle School band attended the District 8 Band Festival at Troy University. 
The two band programs had to perform three selections of music for a panel of judges and be assessed by scoring superior, excellent, good, or poor. Both programs earned straight superior ratings, the highest rating possible. 
The T.R. Miller High School band performed on Thursday and earned straight superior ratings.
Mary Bell, the assistant principal at T.R. Miller, drove to Troy to hear the high school band perform.
The band programs will now prepare for the all-state band festival and their spring concert, which will be on May 1 at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
